What is a support sheet?

The support sheet is one of the basic parts of PVC window and door systems and provides strength to the plastic profile by forming the carrier skeleton of the system.

The support sheet ensures that the hinges in PVC window and door systems can be connected to the plastic profile more securely and that the systems are more durable by preserving the shape and structure of the profile for a long time.

Support Sheets Resistant against fire and all kinds of external factors.

What should be considered for the support sheet?

The wall thickness of the support sheet must be suitable for the conditions of use of PVC window and door systems. Otherwise, the support sheets cannot meet the wind loads and the system will be damaged and cause air and water penetration over time.

The length cut of the support sheet should be adjusted by calculating the appropriate melting distance at the welding points of the profile.

The gap between the support sheet and the inner surface of the plastic profile should be at least 1mm and at most 2mm. If the gap is too large, the strength will decrease and screwing will not be healthy. If the gap is too small, it may prevent the plastic profile from expanding and cause it to crack.

The support sheet should be screwed in at least two places even in the shortest lengths. Screw spacing should be maximum 30-40 cm.

What are the storage conditions for the support sheet?

The support sheet should never be stocked outdoors, there should be no rain, water, moisture and contact with the ground in the stocking area. There should be no excessive temperature difference in the storage area and long-term storage should be avoided.

If a galvanized material comes into contact with acidic or extremely basic liquids, the protection of the galvanized coating will be damaged. Wetting of galvanized material with rainwater or condensation from the environment reduces the corrosion resistance life by 2 times. By its nature, the amount of coating of the product does not prevent corrosion from occurring unless proper storage space is provided.

Corrosion of the product will occur if the appropriate conditions are not met.

Galvanic corrosion is the wear and deterioration that occurs as a result of chemical and electrochemical reactions with the environment. Zinc, like all other metals, corrodes and rusts by combining with water vapor and oxygen in the air. Due to the Zinc content in galvanized materials, Zinc corrosion layers naturally form on galvanized materials.

Corrosion can occur not only in water-containing environments but also in atmospheric conditions, in the ground and due to moisture in the concrete.

Coating thickness loss under normal weather conditions is minimal.
